Context
Luks was able to simplify the panorama before him by loosely defining space and form with quick daubs of pigment. The curtain of splotchy green and yellow behind the children, gives an effect of flickering shadow and sun in the park where they play. Luks presents a candid impression of invention and dress-up—elements of an imaginative world that permeates a child’s daily life.
