Context
"Trawler 'Quincy'" was part of a series for "Life" magazine depicting the Maine dragger "Quincy" trawling for the redfish used to bait lobstermen’s traps. It typically takes fifty to sixty hours to steam from Rockland, Maine to the Grand Banks, and the average fishing trip lasts anywhere from ten days to three weeks—even longer if the catch is good.

Featured in “Maine and American Art: Farnsworth Art Museum” with thanks to the Henry Luce Foundation and Wyeth Foundation for American Art.
