Context
Louis Prang & Company in Boston was one of the most successful lithographic printing firms in nineteenth-century America. Among his popular color lithographs were reproductions of contemporary American landscape paintings, such as this one of Benjamin Champney’s painting of Mount Chocorua in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. This print is included in an 1873 Prang catalogue, priced at nine dollars.
