Context
Connor was commissioned to do a series of photographs of the Olson House in conjunction with a 2006 exhibition of Andrew Wyeth’s works at the Cincinnati Art Museum. In this one, the gentle transition from areas of shade along the stairway and bright light in the room at the end of the hall recall similar photographs of interiors by American modernist painter and photographer Charles Sheeler (1883-1965).

Featured in “Maine and American Art: Farnsworth Art Museum” with thanks to the Henry Luce Foundation and Wyeth Foundation for American Art.
