Context
According to the artist, "Wood Stove" is a portrait of the Olson House, the home of
siblings Alvaro and Christina Olson. The kitchen was the center of activity in the home for Christina, who is seated at the left, and Alvaro’s presence is indicated by his rocking chair to the right.
