Context
Wyeth’s portrait of Rick Fritz, his farm manager at the artist’s Point Lookout, Delaware home, shows him wearing boots made by L.L. Bean, the iconic Maine outdoor store. Fritz is surrounded by skulls from his various hunting kills. Barely visible in the shadows on the left is a red-tailed hawk that was found with a broken wing and rescued.
