Context
Jamie Wyeth met the avant-garde artist Andy Warhol in the 1970s while in New York, and got to know members of Warhol’s entourage at his studio and gathering place, the Factory. During this time Warhol and Wyeth made portraits of each other, Wyeth’s a head-on drawing in charcoal of the dynamic artist-entrepreneur-provocateur who has had such a powerful influence on the American contemporary art scene.
